Together with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, InSITE BAVARIA has developed a web-based Sustainability Calculator to estimate the monetary return on sustainability investments in existing or new industrial areas in the regional program Cooperation Platform Latin America North (COPLAN).

Since 2016, TUM International is responsible for concepts, development and set-up of TUM Kuwait, TUM's spin-off university in Kuwait City. Together with the Kuwaiti investor Malakiya, TUM International GmbH will make the private university to become a leading institution of higher education in Kuwait and the GCC region, offering Bachelor, Master and PhD programs in various fields such as engineering, management or ICT for up to approximately 6,600 students.
On behalf of the Georgian government TUM International is supporting the establishment of a German-style university in Georgia. The new university in Kutaisi focuses on a strongly entrepreneurial and application-oriented approach and offers state-of-the-art learning facilities as well as on-campus accommodation. KIU is aiming a far-reaching internationalization of the study programs, lecturers and students.
At Saudi Arabia‘s most important industrial site „Jubail Industrial City“, TUM International and Jubail Industrial College build up and operate a national Cluster Excellence Center and a Research and Application Center for entrepreneurship, environmental engineering and Industry 4.0. The project is part of a framework cooperation with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.
TUM International is operating the Siemens Center of Knowledge Interchange (CKI) at Technische Universität München, representing a best practice of strategic long-term collaboration between a leading industrial player and one of the world’s top universities. The CKI at TUM initiates and moderates major research cooperation projects between TUM and Siemens, supports talent management, e.g. by specific mentoring programs, and develops tailor-made cooperation mechanisms between the company and the university.
TUM and Evonik have set up the Center for Technology and Knowledge Transfer (CTKT) at TUM International. The CTKT coordinates the cooperation between TUM and Evonik in the fields of innovation and talent management and analyses joint research topics and needs. It furthermore takes over conception, planning and implementation of programs in the field of recruiting.
The mentorING program exists since 2002, making it the oldest and one of the most successful mentoring programs at TUM. It specifically supports female students of the TUM on a successful career start.
Career development for TUM students focussing on IT or technology: IT- or technology-related TUM students will be guided and advised by Siemens senior executives over the duration of at least one year.
The "Asean Center of Excellence for Smart Technologies" (ACES) brings digitalization technologies to the entire Southeast Asian region, following the German “Industry 4.0” approach. The center is jointly being developed and operated by TUM International and the authorities of the Malaysian “East Coast Economic Region”. In a first phase until 2019, it focuses in particular on the digitalization of oil and gas industry, the mobility sector, infrastructure and farming in Malaysia.
The Seahawk project in Texas, USA, focusses on the strategic support in the optimization of the regional pipeline system. In order to create lasting impact, the interaction of regional and international stakeholders is to be improved through the creation of a new petrocluster. A joint Competence Center for Port and Energy Logistics applies joint know-how, experience and technology in areas such as port infrastructure development, energy logistics and pipeline operations.
The park operator Mainsite and InSITE BAVARIA develop a competence center for its Initiative for Interdisciplinary Regional Development (IIRD). Pilot applications are the logistics center and the expansion plans of Mainsite for the Industrie Center Obernburg (ICO). The impact of these modifications on the traffic situation in neighbouring towns and the region will be analyzed with support of TUM expertise.
Cork Harbour Region (CHR) displays specific advantages which shall be capitalized through a targeted and internationalized investment strategy, focusing on multinational and SME target groups as well as world-leading clusters and future key-enabling technologies. InSITE BAVARIA is the key contractor to elaborate the Growth Strategy and corresponding action plan by an activating approach of “Ecosystem Development”.
Port of Trieste, Transalpine Pipeline (TAL), TUM International GmbH and Camera di Commercio Italo-Tedesca are forming a strategic partnership. The relevant Competence Center is addressing the need for interconnected management systems along global supply roads by establishing energy-driven cluster across Bavarian-Italian cooperation. It shall further strengthen the competitiveness of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Bavaria as a European ecosystem of globally connected value chains and to improve sustainable growth.
