The "Asia Center of Excellence for Smart Technologies" (ACES) implements digitization technologies in accordance with the German Industry 4.0 standard throughout Southeast Asia.
The center is jointly established and operated by TUM International GmbH and the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC). The main focus lies on the digitization of the education sector, industrial infrastructure, mobility and logistics, and agriculture in Malaysia.

TUMint·Energy Research GmbH is a not-for-profit, non-university and interdisciplinary research institution. TUMint·Energy Research is located at the research Campus of the Technical University Munich (TUM) in Garching. TUMint·Energy Research is a second-tier subsidiary of the Technical University Munich (TUM) and is predominantly funded by the Free State of Bavaria.
Object of Research are energy storage technologies with focus on battery technologies mainly for all-solid-state batteries. In particular, research on innovative battery technologies is carried out through basic and application-oriented research in the fields of materials science, electrochemistry, chemical process engineering, physics and production technology for all-solid-state batteries.
TUMint·Energy Research GmbH cooperates scientifically with the Technical University Munich on the level of chairs at TUM and faculties or similar institutions. Additionally TUMint·Energy Research is a member of the TUM.battery network.
From materials research to in-vehicle operation: various chairs, institutes and groups of the faculties of chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering work together to promote the production of batteries for various technologies.
GATE - Garchinger Technologie- und Gründerzentrum GmbH

The gate is a technology and start-up centre located on the Garching research campus of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The centre supports around 50 start-ups from the technology sector by providing suitable premises and intensive coaching during the start-up phase. TUM International GmbH is one of the six shareholders of the gate.
KME - Kompetenzzentrum Mittelstand GmbH

KME - Kompetenzzentrum Mittelstand GmbH is a joint venture of vbm - Verband der Bayerischen Metall- und Elektroindustrie e. V. and TUM International GmbH. The centre identifies the research and innovation needs of the metal and electrical industry (M+E industry) and carries out cross-company research projects. In doing so, KME cooperates with renowned research institutes and universities. The services of the KME also include the promotion of exchange between research, science, and companies as well as the dissemination of research results.
